Happy Birthday T

It was my wonderful husband's birthday this month, too. He is the greatest, and deserved a better birthday than I put on for him. Next year I pledge to be better.
I love him so much and I'm really grateful for how awesome he is with our kids, how hard he works for our family, for his ambition, and for the way he always takes care of me.
We had a fun weekend celebrating. We all went to breakfast together, T and I went to dinner and a play on the night of his birthday, and we tried- unsuccessfully- to see The Avengers. I'm still working on that one.

Love you babe. Thanks for being the best.

Amelia's Birthday

Amelia turned one.  I really can't believe it and I'm a little sad. I remember when Evelyn turned one I was so excited because she was starting to walk and I wanted her to grow up fast fast fast!! But with Amelia, I just feel like she is my baby and I want her to stay a baby. So I'm a little sad that now she's one. But she's still such a little sweetheart and so much fun.
At one year old Amelia:
Weighs 18 lbs- she is in the 10th percentile for weight
Is in the 75th percentile for height which is weird.
Is in the 80th percentile for head circumference. I have large headed babies :)
Was not walking at all on her actual birthday, but took her first steps on May 21st- 9 days after her birthday.
Is officially allergic to dairy and I strongly suspect soy as well so we are avoiding those in our house- which is hard, but i had to shove a practice epi-pen into her thigh- and I never want to have to do that for real- so it's worth it.
Says Hi, Mama, Dad, yum and wheeee!
Is the smiley-est kid on the planet.
Loves all people. Not at all afraid of strangers.
BITES! Ouch. She is constantly teething and bit her sister on the toe yesterday. Poor Evelyn because she bites hard and her teeth are sharp!
LOVES her water table that Terence and I gave her for her birthday.
Enjoys swinging.
Is super confident and a little bossy around her sister especially.
I love this little girl so much! I decided to have a rainbow-themed birthday party with mostly just our family. Thanks to pinterest, I think everything turned out really cute!

We had a really great turnout for the party- Thanks so much to everybody who came. Our whole neighborhood was amazed at the size of the party- we got lots of comments at church on Sunday. It means a lot to us that you all made the long trip out here.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIA!!

Meet our Newest Addition...

Neapolitan "Polly". We had been thinking about getting a puppy for a while, and Evelyn really wanted one- and lets face it, Terence and I are suckers. I knew that if we were ever going to get one, I wanted one like Polly- a cavalier king charles spaniel. My dad has one that looks just like her and is just the sweetest dog I have ever met. So when we found Polly on KSL for a good price, we decided to get her. She is such a nice dog, and we all just love her, although I will be happy when she grows out of some of her "puppy" behavior.

February

February just flew right by. I don't have much to say about this month, other than that Mia had her 9 month check up- she was in the 8th percentile for weight and 45th for height, but here is the kicker... her head was in the 75th percentile for circumference. Teeny tiny girl with a great big head :)
Actually, I don't think her head looks too big, I think it looks perfect. Guess she is just going to be really smart.
Another thing about Mia- she is allergic to this whole planet. Not really but sometimes it feels that way. She has gotten hives from soy, dairy milk, rice, bananas, and lots of other foods that are harder to track down the single ingredient that is bothering her. I have an appointment with an allergist for her next week, and hopefully they will be able to shed some light on what is going on with her. As it is, she can only drink Alimentum formula which is 30 bucks for a can that lasts less than 5 days. Sheeze. I'm really worried about what we will do when she is one and can get off formula. She can't drink soy, dairy or rice milk. I'm afraid they will just tell me to keep her on formula. Sometimes I think she will be taking a sippy cup of Alimentum to Kindergarten with her.
Also in February: Valentines day.
Terence was so sweet and got up super early to go buy me a white rocking chair for my front porch (I have wanted one since we moved in). I got him a Bonsai tree. He took some pictures of the girls and those are the only pictures I have of them in February, so here they are!

Evelyn with my Valentine's Day roses

Mia eating her favorite snack (and one of the only ones I can find that she isn't allergic to), Marshmallow Mateys (AKA Lucky Charms).
She is such a kid, and always eats the marshmallows first :)

Christmas

So I'm way behind. Lately I just don't feel like spending my time blogging, but I want to do this for my kids. As a compromise, this will be short and sweet, but at least it will be here :)

Christmas was really fun this year. Evelyn was very excited about Santa (she is still talking about him and what he brought her). She got a fun doll bath tub/changing table/high chair, a new baby doll, several HexBugs (this was what she wanted the very most. Our neighbors got some and then that was all I heard about the rest of the month until Christmas), some new clothes and a few other small toys.
Mia of course couldn't care less about Christmas. She got a walker, some clothes, her first baby doll and a couple other small toys from us.
Of course they were both spoiled to pieces by their grandparents :)
Here they are on Christmas morning:

3 years, 6 months

Here are my girls at 3 years and 6 months, respectively. Never seen cuter kids in my life :)
